What's the Job?

• Takes responsibility to see jobs are completed on time.
• Work with a cross functional team of Tooling Engineers, CNC machinists, EDM machinists.
• Assemble a mold of any complexity with minimal supervision to meet customer’s approval.
• Plan and schedule minor jobs to meet desired delivery date within the amount of time quoted.
• Work with toolroom supervisor for desired delivery dates.
• Disassemble and troubleshoot problems with a mold and collectively figure out a plan of action to correct the problem within a reasonable cost and time span.
• Perform any inspection procedures efficiently and in a cost-effective manner with minimal supervision.
• Is capable of wiring a complete runner less mold with minimal supervision.
• Is capable of figuring out the timing on a rack and gear mold and assembling molds with hydraulic cylinders.
• Operate all necessary equipment in a safe manner in the shop efficiently and with no minimal supervision.
• Capable of explaining work to be done to an outside vendor and preparing needed prints or sketches for vendor to work from.
• Operate a computer with master CAM software.
• Fit parting lines and shutoffs for Injection and LSR molds.
• Manage minor mold repairs

What's needed:

• High school Diploma/GED required
• 2 years technical or trade school with an emphasis on tool making or equivalent experience.
• 5 years mold making in a tool shop environment with extensive experience in precision surface grinding or 5 years’ experience working with CNC milling, EDM, or Wire processes.
• Technical mathematical skills, such as: geometry, trigonometry, print reading.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft) & ability to run Mastercam for viewing designs and making prints required to manufacture components.
• To build plastic injection molds safely within customers specifications in an efficient manner.
• Knowledge of all processes within the shop.
• To use precision measuring tool commonly used in the mold building trade.
• Must have dexterity with hands and fine motor manipulation.
• Able to operate and use fork truck and overhead hoist in a safe manner.
