Primary Purpose of Position The Department of Visual and Performing Arts invites applications for Part-Time Instructors for fall 2025. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach music courses.
The successful candidate is expected to teach introductory and advanced level courses by the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teach face-to-face and/or online courses, attend training and/or review sessions. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to, academic advising of students, supporting student organizations, participating in program development and assessment. The candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in the department and university.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit The Department of Visual and Performing Arts provides students with exceptional professional programs, which combine development in artistic disciplines and career preparation in the arts. These programs are delivered through individualized and small-group instruction within a broad-based curriculum.

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts supports over 300 undergraduate majors along with providing general education courses for the university.
Minimum Requirements Candidates must have a Master's degree or higher in Music degree at the time of application.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education Candidates with 1-3 years teaching experience at the University or Community College level. Evidence of a high level of artistic skill, cultural knowledge and creative accomplishment is expected. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to teach at the entry and intermediate undergraduate levels of study.
